COURT EXTERNSHIP : Entry 1

I had plans for the two weeks break, had it all planned out in my head, study, work out, stay the F away from carbs and sugar. All I did was sleep, eat carbs and stock up on sugar, I feel like a failure, well not entirely but I'm the real definition of a waste man, Didn't realize how tired I was until I started taking naps during the day yet not finding it difficult to sleep at night. We started our externship . Yay! My posting got changed to Igbosere, got the email while I was in Ikeja High Court, I love criminal litigation, practicing in Nigeria doesn't look that bad. The Judge heard 16 cases, some which were for arraignment but the accused person's did not show up. It's a complete different ball game, been there watching everything we were thought in class being put into practice . Commercial is not as exciting as criminal but , I like the court. The judge hears cases on Land, landlord and tenant, general civil.  breach of contract and some corporate issues...

THE DARK SIDE

Took me a while to decide whether or not to do a post on this, but it's one of them things .  Here it comes,..............  I dipped a foot in the supernatural pond, juju, black magic call it whatever you want . I didn't realize what I was getting into until it hit me that it was some messed up shit . So this white garment "pastor" who is friends with my older cousin came to the house a while back prayed et all. While he was praying he went into a trance, stated communicating with angels or whatever. Then he started saying things, personal stuff about everyone in the room, mentioned the fact that I'm always having nightmares, and things that will happen in the nearest future. At first I ignored him, avoided him every time he came to the house but he caught me off guard one night and that was how I got sucked in .  At first we had to go to the beach, pray and throw things in water, apparently all the misfortune went in the water and God accepted the off...

WEEK 20

I made it guy's!  Last week of lectures, yet another stressful week . I think i stopped caring at week 19, i physically, emotionally and mentally drained. Ditched  some lectures, walked out of others, had to talk myself into getting out of bed some times but you guy's have no idea how it feels to be in the last week of Law School Lectures. Law school itself is not over but no more sitting in the auditorium for hours, waiting for break and praying for lectures to end for the day No more holding my breathe when the lecture starts calling out student number's because I didn't read the topic or attend group meeting the night before. No more driving like a manic in traffic when I wake up late in order to get in before 9am. No more smelly toilets.

UPDATE : WEEK 15-19

Hi guys, I've been too busy to blog. So much has been happening but not enough to blog about , just the normal routine. Nothing special just the usual attending lecturers, hot class room, "I too knows". Slowly losing focus. We are  rounding up and I can't believe we are almost done with lectures and moving on to externhip .  I have a study routine, a short but effective one. The mosque is the perfect place for me to read, I go there immediately after lectures, read till past seven. I try to draft as much as I can .  We had our second snap test yesterday, the HOD for Property Law Practices announced it an hour into our Friday lectures . The test was from 3 to 7, it included theory questions and MCQ's. I was done before 6 and because the invigilator wanted to leave early she so allowed some people go.  I was issued a warning for been in a male's room which is against the code of conduct.  I apologize if the post is short or disorganized.  ...

WEEK 14

Hi guys,  Six more weeks to go then lectures are over. This is going to be a short post as I spent most of the week in the hospital . Did not have my car as the brakes failed on Sunday

WEEK 13

Hi guys, This weeks has been a busy one from the start. I'm going to try to go into more details on how my week by separating the days. Hopeful the posts don't get boring. Monday I got into a bit of trouble with student services for having multiple piercings on my ears, I smiled at the lady and she let me in. We finished criminal litigation early and I was excited to go home early only to remember Tuesday was the deadline given to complete medicals.  I assumed I didn't have to do it since I was not staying on campus, students are very fond of leaving things until last minute so the second the lecturer announced the end of class I didn't wait to thumbprint. Walked to the clinic as fast as I could, completed the process in 45 minutes and went back to thumbprint at ICT, I took my medical card as proof to show I wasn't ditching lectures. Got home before 4. Tuesday Long day , civil litigation takes a lot of time and the lectures always have stories to tell but th...

WEEK 12 AND OTHER RANDOM STUFF

Hi guys, This week has been hectic, the lecturers are starting to take group meeting serious, 63 members in a group got queried for not attending group meetings. On Tuesday I stayed back after lectures for two hours because the meeting for scheduled for 6pm after waiting for two hours, I waited till half 7 only to find out the meeting was cancelled. I was so pissed off, got stuck in traffic on the way home and didn't get in until 9.  I gave the group leader a piece of my mind the next day and as usual he gave him attitude.

WEEK 10/11

Hi guys, I've been so busy barely have time for myself. Nothing special has been happening, from lectures to remedial. It's been hectic, thank God remedial ended in week 11 so we are back to the usual long days. Lecturers going on for as long as they want. I attended my fist group meeting on Sunday, spent a hour in the wrong group meeting only to realize my group was on the ground floor, so i had to spend another hour listening to the same presentation. My group leader is a bit of c**t, people let little power get into their heads. I told him I didn't stay on campus and it would be stressful if i waited until 6pm for meeting if class end at 2 or 4. I would also face heavy traffic on the way home and might not get home until 9 all he did was tell me to move to the hostel or get an executive room. I don't mind doing the work or any extra work as long as i'm participating. I really don't have much to say, just glad the long days are over. Week 12 coming up ...

WEEK 9

This is going to be a short one, Remedial classes started on Monday and are to run for the six weeks for students who started late. We end lectures before two, its very interesting to know we can finish between half one and two pm but lectures are stretched to keep us busy. The classes are not bad , they move very fast and we finish at half six most days but they are stating to get boring because we are on Week 5 which is the week I start. Its nerve wrecking having to sit through it and not been able to because I have to thumb print.  Nothing special happened during the week , missed a day because I had a graduation to attend my 25 per cent is slowly reducing .

WEEK 7/8

Hi Guys , Happy New Year ! I was not able to do a post on week 7 last so I will combine week 7 and 8 together then do an update on week 8 at the end of the week . Hope you all have a great Christmas? WEEK 7 Still going to school from home because I simply can not do the five or six in a room and ten to twelve people to a bathroom/toilet thingy. No I don't think I'm better than everyone, I'm not used to living in such conditions and I find the price for Executive hostel expensive so coming from home is the cheapest option. The traffic is not that bad but I have to hang around after lectures when I have group meetings which I'm yet to attend hope I don't get into trouble.

Week 6

It's the sixth week of Law school but my second week. I attended my first law dinner and also wrote my first surprise "Snap Test" which are given randomly to snap your brain . I finished registration on Wednesday and was told there was a possibility I would be dinning the next day, the school has set ground rules student have to comply with in order to dine. *Court shoes or flats , no patents or suede's allowed just leather, no bows or designs of any sort. Males had to wear shoes with soles. *Suits: Skirts, white shirt , black dress and blazer for females and trousers for males. No skinny ties allowed. *Females had to be on their natural hair, no weaves, braids or plaits allowed. No nails or eyelashes and small stud earrings. Those who didn't comply with the rules were sent back to change, people were told to cut their nails, remove the designs on shoes. Some had to take of their false lashes. I fixed my nails on Sunday and really gutted I had to dissolve ...

Bar II

I survived my first week on the Lagos Campus, It was a lot of stress but I pulled through. Lectures started four weeks ago but I had issues with my admission due to people in ICT, I missed out on the background stuff but should be able to catch up . Bar II is completely different from Bar I first thing is I'm in the Lagos campus where they are much more stricter than Abuja. I decided to stay in Lagos due to the proximity to my house and the boo also lives in Lagos . In Abuja female students were allowed wear black on black but that'ts not the case in  Lagos, it was either white on black, black dresses or go back home to change. I got in trouble on my first day because my shirt had ruffles and I was wearing suede shoes, I smiled my way out of it, It took me over an hour to drive to VI from my house which is on the mainland and there was no way I was driving back home. The timetable for class is nine am to one thirty pm, with a thirty minute break at eleven, however that...

Few are roaming.

Hi baby, I just got called  about a meeting in Abuja and I have to get there tonight, heading home to pack, sorry I’m missing your sisters engagement tell Seun we will do full turn up for her white wedding… Toun hit the send button and waited for her husband’s reply. “Baba please find somewhere to make a U-turn “, she said to the grey haired driver who Yele employed to relive her of the stress of driving  three weeks after their wedding.  “Head to the mainland we are going to Yaba ’, she informed still staring at her phone. The driver looked at her from the rear view mirror with pity in his eyes, but she was too far away to notice, he knew what was happening and prayed she told her husband before it ruins their marriage. Toun looked out the window as the car sped past others on the Third Mainland Bridge, the view of the sea started to blur as her voices in her head increased, she tried to stay calm while the driver glanced at her as much as he could to make sur...
Hi Guys, I'm you are all tired of my apologies. The network in Bwari is pretty crappy and based on the way my account is set up my smile is currently not available therefore using my phone as hotspot can be a pain in the ass. Typing a post with my phone is equally as bad. I'm slept quite early which is why I'm awake now, 1:20AM  so why not update my amazing readers on my law school experience.

Story so far

Hi guys, Sorry I've been MIA. I've made several attempts to post but my Internet as been acting up and my phone is not connecting to the laptop so I'm going to post from my phone. Law school has been a new experience, first I moved to the hostel so no more driving to Bwari from  town everyday my bank account is glad. At first I felt some how about my roommates but they cool as f#*# so happy days.

Registration/Day 1.

Hi Guys, So i just started started law school as some of you already know, I will be in Abuja for Bar I and hope I get to go back to Lagos for Bar II. Registration was very stressful due to rude and lazy staff a simple 20 minutes process took over four hours. My day started at 5:30 morning on Friday in order to get on the first flight to Abuja to register for law school, I had my friend pick me up from the airport only meet the gate  locked, the PA was't home leaving me to stand outside for over an hour with my boxes

I GOT IN!!!

Hi Guys, I got my admission into Law School.....Yay!!! Turn out my name was on the list since it came but I was entering the wrong application number hence the " status pending" I see each time I sign in. I went to Abuja on Monday but I'm back in Lagos to pack my bags and get all the necessary thing I need. My admission is provisional till my final results are released so fingers crossed , next few days are going to be hectic, I have to get a medical report in order to stay in the hostel since the drive from  my house to Bwari is over an hour and it's simply not worth the stress. I'm excited to start a new chapter in my life and also getting a step closer to been a legal practitioner, however, I'm not looking forward to wearing skirts for the next 18 months or living in the house with my dads PA who never stops talking and is kind of sleazy. Hopefully, I get all my stuff sorted before Friday so I can return to Abuja on Monday to start my Law school exp...

Quick Update.

Hi Guys, I'm back in Lagos and it's been a different  experience so far , less turn up and more trying to sort my life out. I applied for Law school back in April and I'm yet to get a reply, a friend told me the list came out last week but each time I log into mine all I see status pending and I'm starting to get worried, Bar I lectures starts on Monday and I don't know what to do. For the first time in three years I'm fasting without any temptations, no getting involved in any haram activities,  I stay home and watch my friends get dressed but I can't be bothered, my relationship with my Creator is more important. I also started taking Arabic lessons so I can start reading the Quran, I'm getting through it quite well but I have so many errands to run for my dad, therefore I don't have any time to study what I've learnt due to errands I'm running for my dad. My main concern is getting into law school and hopefully, everything works out ...

Final Exams.

My final exams are creeping up and I'm stressed to the max, stressed and calm at the same don't know if that makes sense but that's how I feel. I've spent more time in the library this semester than I have since I started university. This year has been very emotional, I had one of my mood swings last and I was like " screw it" . I picked up a new book and read my sorrows away.

Headies 2015 .....

I caught the late train to the headies on Youtube, I wasn't planning on watching but I'm glad I did, two grown men going at each other like teenagers. The BBM updates made me curious as to what was happening so I had to check it out myself and all I can say is WOW!!! That was not expected. Olamide's rant was not necessary but as the owner of the Label his frustration was justified but his choice of word's were wrong on live TV did not speak well of his leadership skills. His rant on twitter took it to another level, I suck at twitter but I found myself re- tweeting post, I can't carry last now, so I had to insert myself. We are yet to hear from Don Jazzy AKA my baby daddy but the guy is just so cool and comes across as an easy going person. He shouldn't have mentioned Olamide's name that escalated the entire situation and I hope they make up soon, YBNL and MAVIN are big record labels with different, genre in music but the beef is not needed. The show w...
